Prep Dish Meal Plans Subscriber Spotlight: Michael Ann Rentz

Mar 8, 2018 | Subscriber Spotlight | 0 comments

We are very excited to feature Prep Dish Meal Plans subscriber, Michael Ann Rentz. If you are a current subscriber, you've definitely seen her face around our FB Group page and she was very active with our January 21-Day Challenge. Michael Ann always adds a bit of southern charm to the very helpful tips she shares with our FB fans!

Meet Michael Ann!

Tell us a little bit about you… My husband is retired Air Force.  He served 27 years, and we now live near Savannah, Georgia.  Our 25 yo daughter lives with us and works locally as well. Most of the time I cook/prep and she cleans.  (I'm a messy cook who does NOT like to clean, so it works well!)  Our 22 yo son serves in the Air Force and is currently stationed in Alaska.

Meal Planning

How long have you been a Prep Dish Meal Plans subscriber?  I have been a subscriber for a little less than a year, but in that time have moved from a free 2-week trial to a Premium Subscriber and have never looked back. I will be around for a while!

What do you like most about using Prep Dish Meal Plans?  I appreciate the meal plans themselves.  This is something that I *should* be able to do for myself, but I never get around to it.  I more than happily pay you to do that for me! 🙂 I also love the Prep Day instructions.  They are clear and make the best use of my time.  Hooray for efficient use of time in the kitchen!

Who does the “Prep Day” at your house and what about “Dish Day”?  I usually do the grocery shopping and prep day. And then the meals are ready to go for whoever can finish them off that day. I leave a note for my family that tells them which day we are on so they can grab the meal from the fridge and follow the simple Dish Day instructions. I love it – delegation at it's best!

What is your best advice to share with our readers? READ EMAILS! From Day 1, I have learned so many tips & tricks on how to best use the Prep Dish meal plans and also fun things that you share with us as well.

Are you seeing a difference in your food budget since using our plans? Yes, we are saving money by not wasting food. I've thrown out SO much produce in years past.  Now I rarely do, because you do such a great job using what I purchase each week!

And now for some fun….

What has been your favorite Prep Dish meal so far?  It's hard to pick just one! Our first favorite was the Paprika Chicken. I mean, who knew such a simple dish could be so amazing! Since then, we have discovered new favorites like Oriental Cashew Chicken w/ Zoodles, Pork w/ Apples & Rutabaga, and the Slow Cooker Classic Beef & Root Veggie Stew. My favorite dessert is hands down the Cranberry-Pecan Baked Pears. LOVED those!

Roasted Pork w/ Apples & Rutabaga

Have you tried anything that has been surprising?  Beets! Honestly, I didn't even know I liked them until I tried the Salad with Roasted Beets, Goat Cheese & Walnuts.

What is your favorite kitchen tool? My Instant Pot. I use it as much as possible when making Prep Dish recipes. My favorite non-appliance tools are good knives and a good apron. I always, always wear an apron. I'm a messy cook. And I like my clothes!

The food I couldn't live without?  French fries!  With mayo on the side, please.  Awful, I know, but there you are!

My last meal before being stranded on a desert island?  Beef stew on rice, and lots of it!

Quick and easy breakfast?  Oy. That's my nemesis. I prefer hot food at all meals, so I frequently warm up leftovers for breakfast. Some days I'll dice up a small zucchini and cook it in some coconut oil. Then I'll crack two eggs, drop them in, and cover the skillet with a lid.  I'll cook it until the egg whites are done, hit it with some salt and nutritional yeast, and slide it off onto a pretty red plate!  Voila!  It's quick, easy, and nutritious!

Thank you, Michael Ann! This was SO much fun.
