4 Gluten Free Mediterranean Recipes from my Galilee Cooking Class

By now you know how much Brook and I love to travel. But, did you know that one of my favorite things to do on my trips is take a cooking class?! My trip to Israel was no exception. I was thrilled to find out our tour included a hands-on cooking class at Galileat to learn how to cook traditional, gluten free Mediterranean recipes. The class was such a great way to immerse ourselves in a different culture. I also walked away with some new ideas for upcoming Prep Dish meal plans ;).

During the class, we learned how to make Stuffed Grape Leaves (Dolmas), Stuffed Zucchini, Siniya (lamb kebab) and Israeli Okra. Doesn't our final product (pictured left) look amazing?! It was such an amazing meal; nothing beats homemade cooking. And it was such a bonus for me that they were all gluten free Mediterranean recipes!

My favorite recipe to cook was the Dolmas – probably because I had never made a stuffed grape leaf before. It was so much fun learning how to hold and fold the grape leaf like a pro! When it came time to eat, my favorite recipe was the Israeli Okra. It was so simple to cook, and the flavors and texture of this dish were simply outstanding. I even heard a person remark, “I didn't think I liked okra until now.”  This convinced me that I absolutely had to share this dish with you – and add it onto a menu soon. Thankfully the cooking school director, Paul, gave me permission to post 4 of my favorites on the blog!
