Want to know how to chop a pineapple like a chef? Learn my easy method through a short video and step by step photo instructions.
Taking to the blog today to share my tips for how I easily cut pineapple, because, next to the banana, pineapples are America's favorite tropical fruit. And for a good reason – they are the perfect blend of sweet and sour, and are so juicy! Not to mention that pineapples also pack a healthy dose of vitamin C, manganese and B1 for both energy and antioxidants.
When you head to the store, look for these 3 things to ensure your pineapple is ripe:
1. Your pineapple is plump, firm and fresh looking, with healthy leaves.
2. Your pineapple smells sweet and fresh.
3. Your pineapple can be ripe when it's all green. It can also be ripe when it's all yellow. However, your pinapple will not ripen any further sitting on your counter top. They quit ripening as soon as they are picked.
