My NYE recipes are healthy takes on the classics – black eyed peas and greens! I promise they're just as delicious as they are healthy.
Last year for NYE, me & my friends were scattering for various parties. But I hosted a small dinner party before we went our separate ways. It was so nice that this year I'm doing the same! B and I actually have no plans post-dinner so are hoping for a quiet, early night.
I'm carrying over a few of the fun “good luck” dishes I did last year: black-eyed peas for good luck and greens, which are supposed to bring in lotsa green in the new year $$! I did collards last year, but this year will do my favorite, swiss chard, it cooks super fast and can be chopped ahead of time along with the garlic.
I also recently read pomegranates are a traditional NYE food, good for health & fertility. I have some fresh kernels on hand to throw into champagne glasses and may buy pom juice for fun cocktails. I love all of the NYE traditions, would love to hear what you have planned…. Share with me on twitter or FB!
