What is the keto diet?
“Keto” refers to the ketogenic diet, a high fat, low carb way of eating. The goal of keto is to put the body in a state of ketosis, a metabolic state that efficiently burns fat for energy and turns fat into ketones, which can energize the brain.
What is a “Fat Bomb”?
A “fat bomb” is a high fat snack that helps people following the ketogenic diet eat enough fat to stay in ketosis.
Keto fat bombs can be a healthy and satisfying alternative to prepackaged snack foods, even for those who don't follow keto. Due to their high fat content, they help you stay full much longer than traditional snacks, which are often carb-based.
So how do you use fat bombs? Fat bombs are great for a quick breakfast, pre- or post-workout snack, or mid afternoon snack. Some of them also make a great dessert!
Can you meal prep fat bombs?
Yes! All of our fat bomb recipes and ideas are meal prep friendly. I'm a huge proponent of prepping healthy snacks and making them easily accessible, whether or not you're keto. After all, most of us are in a hurry when snack time comes around and tend to grab whatever's easiest.
Set yourself up for success by making sure you have easy and healthy snacks to grab! One of the best things you can do is chop up some fresh veggies at the start of every week. Even on weeks when you don't have time for a full blown meal prep session, washing and chopping your produce will go a long way toward helping you make healthy food choices throughout the week.
To take it a step further, choose one or two of the low carb snack options above and prep them for the week.
